Some of you reading this will remember when the old style living room (also known as the ‘parlour’), was nothing more than a centerpiece. No one was allowed in there apart from Mother doing a spot of weekly cleaning. It seemed daft to call them living rooms really, because no one actually lived in them. Fortunately, the new generations have come to their senses and nowadays every part on the house accessible for everyone to enjoy. Living room designs have obviously changed with the times, especially since they have ceased to be the forbidden zone. Having an unused 'best room' in a small house meant living conditions were extremely cramped.
