Glass Patio Tables are by far the best!

Choosing the Right Glass Patio Tables

There's little point in having a smart patio outside unless you have a few decent patio table and chairs to compliment it. The modern outdoor patio tables, for example, can really set off this social area and turn it into very attractive addition to the garden area. A patio is also a great place to eat your breakfast on those beautiful summer mornings. We've recently been looking at glass patio tables to replace our crappy, yet practical, plastic patio furniture.

My brother-in-law has been making and selling glass patio tables for about 3 years now, and he has shown us that there are many different styles of glass top patio table. Some of them are made out of wood, some out of plastic, and some are made out of iron.

It seems like not all glass patio tables are really the same. I can not understand why anyone would buy a glass patio table made out of plastic. Yes, plastic is a very cheap, which is why we went for it initially, and a fairly durable material too, but it also has some very strong drawbacks. It does not have the beauty of cast-iron or even of wood, and can make your terrace look like a tacky beer garden.

I think that a plastic patio table should have a plastic top, which is both cheaper, and somewhat more durable than glass. That way, the kids can sit at the table and, if they get rowdy as kids often do, there is no need at all to worry about them damaging the top and getting cut on it. Glass patio tables, in my opinion, should be elegant through and through, not just simply on the top.

We've really seen some nice designs over at my brother-in-law's place. I didn't realise the patio table set came in so many styles and designs. I just adored the teak patio table with a smoked glass top, and the stone patio table that we saw was just perfect if you had the right kind of landscaping to compliment it. There was also a concrete patio table with a glass inlay, but this industrial style did little to excite me. No, by far the best style for our patio was the wrought iron patio table with a thick glass top, and so that's what we decided on.

Personally, I think if you are interested in glass patio tables, you should get an iron one. There are many reasons for this. In the first place, they will simply look better than wooden ones, especially after a few seasons. It is common knowledge that outdoor wood starts to look lousy very, very quickly. It will get dingy, it will shrink and swell in the cold and warm, and it will lose its finish. Metal, on the other hand, will look the same, practically forever. Aside from this is the fact that there is just a greater harmony between the transparent glass top and thin, elegant, metal sides than there would be with comparatively thick and clunky wood.

If you go and view some glass patio tables, I pretty sure that most of you will agree that there simply are no more elegant pieces of outdoor furniture than glass patio tables with green, whether treated metal bordering the cloudy glass top. All of your friends will no doubt appreciate your taste. In addition, because there will be little or no shrinking and expanding with the changing seasons, it will be easy to fit patio table replacement glass, should the top ever need replacing. For all of these reasons, I have very strong opinions about the proper glass patio tables.

Whatever you decide on, if you have a patio, make the most out of it and go shopping for a bit of furniture so you can enjoy it for what it is, and that is a room outside the home. Plastic might be practical and sensible if you have young kids running around, but glass patio tables really are the finishing touch to a trendy terrace.
